Webcam Capture Tools
These tools produce something you keep — a recording, a photo, a rehearsed take — rather than a measurement. Everything is created in your browser and handed straight to your download folder, so nothing is uploaded and there are no watermarks, accounts or time limits.

Which tool for which job
You need a video clipThe Webcam Video Recorder. Choose WebM for smaller files and broad browser support, MP4 if you need to open the clip in older editing software.
You need a profile or ID photoTake Photo to capture, then the Photo Enhancer to correct exposure and crop to the right ratio. Webcam stills are closer to raw sensor output than phone photos, so a little correction goes a long way.
You are rehearsing a presentationThe Teleprompter scrolls your script near the lens and reports roughly how much of the time you faced the camera.
You are checking how you lookThe Mirror for a quick fullscreen check, or Platform Preview to see how different call layouts will crop you.
What these tools do not do
They cannot filter your outgoing callBrowsers deliberately prevent a web page from injecting video into Zoom, Teams or OBS. These tools capture and correct media you keep, not your live call feed.
Nothing is uploadedRecordings and photos exist in page memory until you download them. Closing the tab discards them, which is also why we never receive a copy.
Long recordings use memoryThe clip is held in the page rather than streamed to disk, so very long recordings consume browser memory. Record in segments for extended sessions.
Getting a better result
Light yourself before anything elseLighting affects a capture more than resolution or bitrate ever will. A lamp in front of you does more than any setting on these pages.
Check audio before a long takeA good recording with unusable sound is the most frustrating outcome. Test levels first with the microphone test.
Frame at eye levelRaise the camera so your eyes sit about a third of the way down the frame. It is the single free change that improves every capture.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I record video from my webcam for free?Open the Webcam Video Recorder, allow camera access, choose a format and quality, then record. The clip downloads straight to your device with no watermark, account or time limit.
Can I take a photo with my webcam online?Yes. Take Photo captures a still with an optional countdown timer and downloads it as PNG or JPEG. Nothing is uploaded at any point.
Is there a free online teleprompter?Yes. The Teleprompter scrolls your script over your camera preview with adjustable speed, and can give you a camera-facing estimate from a 30-second practice take.
Why does my webcam photo look worse than my phone photo?Phone cameras apply heavy computational processing — multi-frame stacking, noise reduction, tone mapping — before you see the image. Most webcams apply very little, so a webcam still is closer to raw sensor output.
Do these tools add a watermark? No. There is no watermark, no account and no time limit on any of them. Files are created in your browser and handed to your own download folder.
