Choosing between them
C270 / C310720p, fixed focus. Adequate for calls; sharpness depends entirely on your distance from the lens because there is no focus adjustment.
C920 / C9221080p30 with autofocus. The C922 adds 720p at 60fps for streaming. Still the most widely used webcams in the world.
StreamCam1080p at a full 60fps, plus vertical 9:16 video. Not 4K, despite frequent claims otherwise in comparison articles.
Brio 500 / 5051080p30 with auto-framing and Show Mode. A different line from the Brio 4K, not a cheaper version of it.
Brio 4K4K30, 1080p60 and 720p90, plus Windows Hello. Requires USB 3.0 for 4K.
Problems common to the whole range
Autofocus huntingAffects every autofocus model. Disabling autofocus and setting it manually at your normal distance eliminates it permanently.
Settings resetting on restartCaused by running on the generic Windows driver with no Logitech software present to reapply your profile.
Colour cast under mixed lightAutomatic white balance overcorrects in rooms with both daylight and indoor bulbs. Setting it manually is the fix.
Flicker under LED lightingSet the anti-flicker option to match your region’s mains frequency — 50Hz across most of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia; 60Hz in North America.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Logitech webcam do I have?Start the test above and grant permission — the browser then reveals the device name your system reports, which usually includes the model. On Windows you can also check Device Manager under Cameras.
Is the Logitech Brio 500 the same as the Brio 4K?No, and the shared name causes constant confusion. The Brio 4K delivers 4K at 30fps. The Brio 500 is a 1080p camera from a different, newer product line.
Why does my Logitech webcam keep losing its settings?Windows uses a generic driver that does not restore your saved profile on restart. Installing Logitech's own software and allowing it to run in the background reapplies your settings each time.
Which Logitech software should I use?Logi Tune for the Brio 500 range, Logi Options+ for general adjustment, Logitech G HUB for streaming and locking the C922 into 720p60, and Logitech Capture for the StreamCam's vertical video. Check the official downloads page, as Logitech consolidates its software periodically.
Do Logitech webcams need drivers? Most work immediately with the generic USB Video Class driver built into every modern operating system. The Logitech software is for features and settings rather than basic operation.
