For You Or Your IT Desk
Tech Support Report
A webcam diagnostic report: one clean summary of your permissions, detected hardware, and whatever test results you've already generated on this site — ready to print, save, or send straight to IT without them needing to ask twenty basic questions first.

Notes
Why a report beats describing the problem
Remote troubleshooting usually stalls on the same exchange: someone reports that their camera is not working, and support asks a series of questions that take a day of back-and-forth to answer. Most of those questions have answers your browser already knows — which permissions are granted, what resolution the camera negotiates, which browser and version is in use, whether audio is reaching the system at all.
A report front-loads those answers. It replaces an imprecise description with a set of measured values, which is what an IT team needs before they can do anything useful.
What the report collects
| Data | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Permission state | Whether camera and microphone access are granted, denied, or still unprompted — the single most common cause of a "broken" camera. |
| Hardware capabilities | The resolution and frame rate your camera actually negotiates, and your audio sample rate. Often differs from what the box claimed. |
| Browser and platform | Which browser and version, since several diagnostics depend on features that vary between them. |
| Results from other tools | Any sync, lighting, bandwidth, low-light or stress-test results saved on this device are pulled in automatically. |
Getting the most complete report
The report assembles whatever has been measured on this device. Running two or three other diagnostics first — particularly the Quick Test and the A/V Sync Test — produces a substantially more useful document than generating it cold.
Two output options exist for different situations. Print or save as PDF when you need something to attach to a ticket or email. Generate a shareable link when you want someone to view it directly; the data is encoded in the URL itself, so nothing is stored on a server. That link can be long, and some chat applications truncate long URLs — if the recipient reports a broken link, send the PDF instead.
Everything in the report is read from your browser and your device. No video, audio, or image is included, and nothing is transmitted to us at any point.
Step-by-Step
How to Generate a Report
- Optionally run other diagnostics first — Quick Test and A/V Sync Test add the most useful detail.
- Return to this page and check that permission state and hardware capabilities have populated.
- Choose your output — Print/Save as PDF for a ticket attachment, or generate a shareable link.
- Send it to whoever is helping you — if a shared link gets truncated by a chat app, send the PDF instead.
