Guided Remediation

Your Personalised Webcam Fix Plan

Your webcam fix plan turns measurements into actions, because measuring a problem is only half the job. This page reads every diagnostic you have already run on this device, works out which issues are actually costing you the most, and gives you an ordered list of fixes — highest impact first, so you know what to change before your next call rather than guessing.

Run a Quick Test first

Step 1

What This Plan Can See

Results are read from this browser only — nothing is uploaded, and nothing is read from any other device. The more diagnostics you have run, the more specific your plan becomes.

  • Quick Test:
  • Lighting & Angle Coach:
  • A/V Sync Test:
  • Low-Light Benchmark:
  • Hardware Stress Test:
  • Bandwidth Simulator:

Press "Build My Fix Plan" to check which results are available on this device.

Step 2

Your Ranked Actions

No plan generated yet. Run at least the Quick Test, then press "Build My Fix Plan" above.

Method

How Actions Are Ranked

Each detected issue carries an impact weight reflecting how much it typically degrades a real call, and an effort rating reflecting how hard it is to fix. Actions are sorted by impact first, then by effort, so a free change that fixes a major problem always appears above an expensive change that fixes a minor one.

Impact levelWhat it means
CriticalActively breaking your calls. Fix before anything else.
HighClearly visible or audible to other people on the call.
MediumNoticeable if someone is looking for it, worth fixing when convenient.
PolishMarginal gains once the bigger items are handled.

The thresholds behind these rules are the same ones used by the individual diagnostics, and they are heuristics rather than certified measurements. Treat the ordering as informed guidance for what to try first, not as a verdict on your hardware.

Step-by-Step

How to Build Your Plan

  1. Run at least two or three diagnostics — Quick Test, Lighting Coach, A/V Sync, Low-Light Benchmark, Hardware Stress Test, or Bandwidth Simulator.
  2. Return to this page and click "Build My Fix Plan."
  3. Check the coverage list to confirm which results were actually found in your browser.
  4. Work through the ranked actions in order — impact first, then effort.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know what to fix first on my webcam?
Run two or three diagnostics, then build a plan here. It reads your saved results and ranks the actions by impact and effort, so the biggest problem with the cheapest fix comes first.
Does the fix plan store my data anywhere?
No. It reads results saved in your own browser's local storage and nothing is transmitted. Clearing your browser data removes everything it uses.
Why does my plan say no results found?
No diagnostics have been run in this browser yet, or the saved results are older than 30 days. Stale measurements are ignored deliberately, because a plan built on old data is worse than none.
What does impact ranking actually mean?
Each detected issue carries a weight reflecting how much it degrades a real call, and an effort rating. A free change that fixes a major problem always ranks above an expensive change that fixes a minor one.
Do I need to run every diagnostic for this to work?
No — the plan builds from whatever results it finds, even just one or two. More diagnostics produce a more complete plan, but a partial plan from a single test is still genuinely useful.
