Both cameras share the same sensor and 78° diagonal field of view. The single meaningful difference is that the C922 can drop to 720p in order to reach 60fps; the C920 cannot.

The C920s adds a physical privacy shutter. The C920x and C922x are identical hardware bundled with an XSplit licence. All of them behave the same in this test.

Troubleshooting

Common Problems With This Camera

1. The blue tint or "underwater" look

The problem: The C920's automatic white balance frequently overcorrects under mixed indoor and natural light, pushing skin tones and the whole background toward blue.

The fix: Disable automatic white balance in your camera software and set the temperature manually, somewhere in the 5000K–6500K range for most rooms. Because the setting is stored per-application on some systems, check it in the app you actually use for calls.

2. Autofocus hunting and soft video

The problem: The lens visibly searches in and out, most noticeably in low light or against a low-contrast background. It is the single most reported C920 complaint.

The fix: Turn autofocus off entirely. Sit at your normal distance, adjust the manual focus slider until your face is sharp, then save the profile. This eliminates hunting permanently. More light also reduces it, because autofocus relies on contrast to lock.

3. Settings reset every time you restart

The problem: You adjust brightness, focus or white balance, then everything reverts to default after a reboot or when opening OBS.

The fix: This happens when the camera is running on the generic Windows UVC driver with no Logitech software present to reapply your profile. Install the official Logitech software and allow it to run in the background, which restores your saved settings on each start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my C922 only showing 30fps in the test?The C922 reaches 60fps only at 720p. At 1080p it is limited to 30fps by the sensor, so if the test reports 1080p30 that is correct behaviour. To get 60fps, set your capture resolution to 1280×720 in your software.

What is the difference between the C920 and C922?They share the same sensor, the same 78° field of view and the same image quality. The C922 adds the option of 720p at 60fps, which the C920 does not have. Everything else is effectively identical.

Does the Logitech C920 have a microphone?Yes, both cameras have dual built-in microphones. They are adequate for calls, but a dedicated USB microphone is a substantial upgrade for streaming or recording.

Why does my C920 video flicker?Flicker comes from a mismatch between your camera's exposure timing and the pulse rate of mains-powered lighting. Set the anti-flicker or power line frequency option in your camera software to match your region — 50Hz across most of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia; 60Hz in North America.
